FAQ
What is preserved moss?
Preserved moss is moss that has been treated to extend its lifespan and preserve its natural colour and appearance.
How long does preserved moss last?
The lifespan of preserved moss depends on the preservation method used and how it is cared for. Dried and pressed moss may last for 8 plus years to several decades. In your interior, moss walls or paintings lose their colour under UV light. So, if a moss wall is in direct sunlight, its lifespan will be shorter than another wall we would position out of any direct light.
What´s the smell of moss like?
Moss has its natural scent. In the first 2 weeks you will be able to smell the moss wall indoors. This is normal and the scent will fade.
Can preserved moss be watered?
No, preserved moss should not be watered as it is designed to be low-maintenance.
Watering preserved moss may cause it to become discoloured or damaged.
Can preserved moss be placed outdoors?
Preserved moss is sensitive to light and heat and may fade or discolour if exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures. It is best to keep preserved moss in a shaded cool area.
Insects and moss walls?
Moss walls are preserved and treated so they do not attract insects.
Moss walls and dust?
We recommend a simple dust prevention method. Moss is a natural product and is not plastic that attracts dust. As a prevention, a hairdryer on cold blow dryer setting, is the best way to to remove anything that would be on the art piece.
Do you offer custom sizing options?
All our pieces are created custom. We do not mass produce an item so you will have an original piece.
